Weather comes in fast and hard in the high alpine San Luis Valley and the surrounding Sangre de Cristo mountains. Sometimes I have the sensation that the mountains disappear entirely.
In this series of paintings, I’ve tried to capture the mountains directly behind my home in a variety of circumstances, to capture the moods of each time of day.
