Art at the Lafayette Public Library | City of Lafayette, Colorado

What a meaningful way to bring art into everyday life — placed where a community gathers to learn, explore, and connect. I'm delighted to share that my work has been selected by the City of Lafayette Arts & Cultural Resources Department for display on the upstairs gallery wall of the Lafayette Public Library in Lafayette, Colorado. The exhibition is scheduled for June through July 2027, bringing original artwork directly to one of the city's most visited public spaces.

There's something particularly fitting about showing work in a library. Like a great painting, a great book invites you to slow down and see the world differently. Both ask for your full attention and reward it. Having my work greet library visitors as they move through the space — whether they're picking up a hold, studying, or simply passing through — feels like a quiet, ongoing conversation between art and community.

The Lafayette Arts & Cultural Resources Department regularly provides opportunities for visual artists through local, regional, and national outreach, with a focus on representation and accessibility without bias — and all programs are free of charge. The department's commitment to weaving art into the fabric of daily civic life is evident in the breadth of their programming, from public art installations and calls for artists to community events and arts grants.

Lafayette itself has cultivated a genuinely vibrant arts community along Colorado's Front Range, nestled between Boulder and Longmont at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. The city's Arts & Cultural Resources Department is supported in part by the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) and the local nonprofit Arts Lafayette, reflecting a deep, community-wide investment in keeping the arts accessible to all residents.

Being selected for this program is both an honor and a reminder of why making art matters — not just in gallery spaces, but in the everyday places where people live their lives.
