Private Sessions
What one session is for:
Sometimes you don't need a program. You need one hour with someone who has been through it and can help you see what you're looking at.
A single session is a good fit when:
You're facing one specific decision and keep circling it
Something has shifted — a move, a diagnosis in the family, a marriage ending — and you need to get your footing before you decide anything
You've stalled on a creative project and can't tell whether it's the project or you
You want to know what working together is like before committing to six weeks
It's not a good fit if what you need is ongoing support. One conversation can give you clarity. It can't build a habit. For that, the six-week intensive is the right door.
How Does It Work?
You'll get a short set of questions when you book. Answer them however you like — a paragraph or three pages. I read them before we meet, so we don't spend the first twenty minutes on background.
In the session itself we look at what's actually going on, usually somewhere underneath the thing you thought you were bringing. I'll ask you to slow down and notice what's happening in your body while we talk, because that's where the honest information tends to be. We use meditation and simple body-based practices, not because they're fashionable, but because thinking harder about a stuck problem rarely unsticks it.
You leave with two or three specific practices to take into your life, and a note from me afterward summarizing what we found.
Sixty minutes, on Zoom. I work with people in most time zones.
Who am I?
I've spent 30+ years guiding people through transitions — grief, anxiety, the end of a marriage, the end of a career, the disorientation of not knowing who you are once the role you played is gone. I hold an M.A. in Contemplative Psychology from Naropa, and I've spent two decades designing and leading contemplative programs internationally.
I also lived overseas for more than 20 years. If you're an expat, or a woman working abroad, or you've come home and found that home no longer fits, I know that particular dislocation from the inside.
I'm a painter and an author, and my own creative practice is where all of this gets tested.
Scope note, stated plainly: This is coaching, not therapy. I am trained as a psychotherapist and we will touch on the psychological patterns that inhibit creative unfolding, but these sessions are not treatment or a substitute for it. If you're in crisis or under care for a mental health condition, I'll help you find the right treatment before we begin our creative work.
