Sunset | Large Impressionistic Mountain Landscape Oil Painting | 28x34 / 36x42 in | Framed

$4,000.00

Evenings when I am in Crestone, I love to sit on my deck and watch the sun set over the San Luis Valley. Every day it’s a new show. Pink and orange light mixes with clouds and rock and blue sky.

Sunset is an attempt to get up close and personal—right where the action is happening. The piece captures a quiet moment of transition, where the earth and sky come alive with the shifting colors of twilight.

The scene draws you into the gentle hush that settles over the landscape as the day pauses between light and dark. Rich silhouettes of trees and hills form a calm foreground, while the sky unfolds above in a radiant gradient, moving from soft golden hues near the horizon to deepening blues higher up. Clouds hover in rounded shapes, in pinks and purples that evoke a feeling of warmth.

This piece invites you to experience the subtle beauty and stillness found in those fleeting moments when the world seems to hold its breath, offering a space for quiet contemplation and connection with nature’s daily ritual.

My hope in painting this piece is to share that experience with you.

This is an oil painting on panel measuring 28x34”, framed in a wide traditional gilded wood frame measuring 36x42”.
